Sheeley House Saloon is a historic eatery along the Chippewa River.
Families in the Chippewa Falls area and looking for dinner will love the Sheeley House Saloon. Don't let the word saloon fool you, this place is very child friendly. Families can expect warm, hometown service here. Even so, eating here isn't for the faint of heart! This eatery has a strong history of being haunted. Older kids and teens will love hearing about the ghostly sightings throughout the building. The first building on this plot was built in 1864, and was converted into a saloon in 1905 by the Sheeley family. It is these owners who are said to still be haunting the place. The current owners are able to attest to the many sightings they and their staff have seen over the years!
While dining here, kids will be entertained by watching for ghosts, as well as having fun childrens' menus available to them. While they happily munch on menu items like chicken tenders, burgers, or mac and cheese, parents can enjoy items like filet mignon and salmon risotto. If you're feeling generous, buy the kitchen staff a round to show your appreciation for their service.
Seasonally, there is also a patio area available outside. Occasionally, you may even get the pleasure of listing to a band play on a beautiful summer night! After dinner, head across the street for a stroll through the riverfront area. Or, take kids to burn off their remaining energy at one of the many playgrounds at Irvine Park.
